Villa Monastero: Wedding Cost
Villa Monastero is a popular elopement wedding venue, because of its affordable rates.
Wedding photography sessions can be arranged in the villa’s botanical gardens. For general photo shoots during the garden’s regular opening hours, the fee is US$330 per hour (VAT included), allowing access to all public areas with the possibility of other visitors being present.
Exclusive use of specific areas, such as the Loggia by the lake, the Glorietta terrace, or the neoclassical temple, can be requested at higher rates: US$1.100 per hour for the Loggia or neoclassical temple, and US$1.500 per hour for the Glorietta terrace. These exclusive areas are subject to additional regulations, including limits on guest numbers and restrictions on decorations.
For private photo shoots outside regular opening hours, the rate is US$1.500 per hour (VAT included).
Pre-payment is required for all bookings, with the reservation confirmed upon receipt of payment.
Additional services such as using the secretariat room for changing clothes cost US$110 per hour. Note that filming with drones requires specific authorization, and no photography is permitted inside the House Museum.

The most popular spaces for weddings are the villa’s lush botanical gardens and elegant terraces, which provide a perfect backdrop for ceremonies and receptions, offering unrivaled views of Lake Como. The villa’s stunning botanical gardens can be booked for private use, even at short notice (20 days in advance).
The botanical gardens are a prime waterfront photo spot, offering more than 2km of lakeside views.
Inside, the villa’s historical charm and refined décor create a sophisticated atmosphere for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Two halls inside the villa can serve as backup spaces in case of rain.

The villa does not offer onsite accommodation, but there are several luxurious hotels and charming bed-and-breakfasts in the nearby town of Varenna, ensuring that your guests have a comfortable and convenient stay.

The wedding season for a Lake Como wedding goes from March to the beginning of October. The months with ideal weather conditions are April, May, June, September, and the first half of October.
